The Problem
Search is broken for hard questions. Most search tools work fine when you type exactly the right keywords. But ask something nuanced - something that requires thinking, not just word matching - and they come up empty.
If you've ever searched for something you know exists but couldn't find it, you've felt this problem.
What I Built
I trained a custom AI model called RakanEmbed that understands what you're actually asking, not just the words you used. It connects ideas across different framings - so even when your question and the answer look nothing alike on the surface, it finds the right result.
This matters in the real world: customer support systems that surface the right answer, research tools that find relevant papers, and AI assistants that don't make things up because they pulled the wrong context.
The Results
I tested RakanEmbed against 12 different domains - biology, economics, coding, math, psychology, and more - using the BRIGHT benchmark, a test designed specifically for reasoning-heavy search.
RakanEmbed ranked #2 globally.
It performed especially well in areas where understanding matters most:
- Biology - finding answers to complex scientific questions
- Mathematics - connecting proofs and theorems
- Psychology - understanding nuanced behavioral science queries
- Economics - linking concepts across different framings

Why This Matters For You
This is the kind of depth I bring to client projects. I don't just plug in off-the-shelf tools - when a project calls for it, I go deep. Training custom models, testing them rigorously, and deploying them in production.
If your business needs search, retrieval, or AI that truly understands your data - I've done it from scratch.
